Generation Unlimited (GenUnlimited) is a multi-stakeholder initiate that aims to ensure all young people are in school, training or employment by 2030. Its focus is on skills for learning, employment especially for girls. Young people are center for GenUnlimited.
GenUnlimited in Tanzania
Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge was conducted for the first time in Tanzania. The three days bootcamp brought together young innovators from across Tanzania to interact and build solutions for challenges facing youth especially young girls and marginalized youth in schools. Among the teams participated, eight teams werecoming from Apps and Girls, others included teams from Y4C Hub , Rlabs Iringa as well as KIOTA hub from Iringa.
The three days bootcamp involved interactive sessions with students being served by a team of mentors, coaches and facilitators from Y4C, Apps and Girls who guided students on shaping their solution ideas. Activities that young innovators involved in that day includes Brainstorming, idea design, concept modeling, developing persona, prototyping and finally pitching.
At the end of the bootcamp, four teams from Apps and Girls were among five team that received fund of 1000 USD per each team, and passed to the next level of Generation Unlimited youth challenge. This achievement from our girls is contributed with the competitive skills they gained during their participation in the Girls Entrepreneurship Summit.
